Dermal filler and Profhilo Consent

Dermal filler and Profhilo" are made from stabilised non-animal based hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers may also contain Lidocaine as a local anaesthetic. These products are injected into the skin to correct lines, wrinkles and folds and to sculpt lips. They may also restore elasticity to the skin and reduce surface irregularities on the facial skin. The ideal areas to treat are the mid and lower face.

Good results may be obtained after a single session with dermal filler and two sessions with Profilo® and may last from 6-12 months.
A topical anaesthetic can be offered if required. Dental anaesthetic injections may be offered for the treatment of sensitive areas such as the lips. I understand that while my lips are numb I must not eat or drink anything except water.

Most people find that the injections cause only mild discomfort.
Immediately after the injection, there may be mild swelling. tenderness and redness which usually subsides in 48 hours.
The effects of the filler are seen immediately with constant improvement over the following 14 days. Profhilo" results are seen within a week, two treatments one month apart are most effective with Profilo" and subsequent top-ups are advised at six-month intervals to maintain the effect.

Side effects of this treatment are rare. Very rarely, inflammatory reactions occur and can arise days and weeks after the treatment but these usually subside over time without the need for further treatment.

If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, this treatment is not recommended.
The aim of treatment is just for improvement, not perfection.

Treatment with dermal fillers and Profhilo® have limitations, these have been explained to me fully and I understand that my expectations may not be completely met.
Each treatment will be charged individually according to the amount of product used.
